  4. About Dirsort
  5. -------------
  6. Dirsort is designed to sort the order of files in directories, this is 
  7. particularly useful for sorting Auto folder programs because the sort 
  8. order is the order programs are executed.

  10. Features
  11. --------
  12. Dirsort runs as either a program or desktop accessory and accepts 
  13. command lines including a directory path.
  14. Dirsort is also useful for sorting the order of CPX and desktop 
  15. accessories.

  17. Installation
  18. ------------
  19. To install Dirsort as an accessory under Single TOS rename DIRSORT.PRG 
  20. to DIRSORT.ACC and place the program in the root directory in the root 
  21. of your boot drive/partition.
  22. Dirsort runs like any other program from the desktop and requires no no 
  23. configuration files.

  25. Using Dirsort
  26. -------------
  27. The 'Read' button reads the directory which is by default set to 
  28. C:\AUTO. To re-order files simply Drag&Drop them into any desired 
  29. sequence using the mouse then select the 'Write' button to save the 
  30. files in the new order.
  31. A disk cache noticablably speeds up this operation. To exit Dirsort 
  32. select the 'Quit' button.

  34. Limitations and known problems
  35. ------------------------------
  36. I've been using Dirsort for years on my Mega ST and TT and it's never 
  37. caused any problems. If your drive is almost full or the 'Write' 
  38. operation is interrupted you're likely to lose data, you've been 
  39. warned!
